Always wanted to run a 5K but don’t know where to start? This beginner-friendly programme takes you from little (or no) running experience to crossing the finish line, proud, confident, and surrounded by your group.
You don’t need to be “a runner” to join. We take it step-by-step, with encouragement at every stage, so you build up gradually and safely. By the time race day arrives, you’ll not only have the stamina, you’ll have the belief that you can do it.

I’ve never run before. can I still join?
Absolutely! Couch to 5K is perfect for beginners. We start with walk/run intervals and build your stamina gradually and safely.
When is the next programme starting?
Couch to 5K runs twice a year, in September and January. The next group Registration on Wednesday 17th and starts Tuesday, 23rd September, with coached runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 pm, plus an optional self-led run at the weekend.
What happens at the end of Couch to 5K?
We finish with a celebration 5K run event to mark your achievement and enjoy your progress together. Many runners continue meeting up or join local events afterwards!
